Welcome to Fruitvale Elementary School Principal Eugene Stovall IV

I bring 15 years of educational experience with an emphasis on culturally congruent instruction, strength based and youth-centered practices.  As a native of Oakland, I love to help out the youth in my community whether that be coaching organized sports such as basketball and football or creating raps. I love to write rhymes and record in music studies and enjoy working on building projects in home spaces.

Fruitvale  currently serves a diverse group of students, eclipsing

just over 300 students

in kindergarten- fifth grade.

In 2019, Fruitvale Elementary School showed 42 (ELA) and 24 (Math) points growth on the SBAC, our state's standardized assessment. This was among the highest in the Oakland Unified School District!
